🎨 Nkusunkushi Exhibition by Rusagara Benjamin

Opening Saturday 8th February, 7 PM ⏰

Rusagara Benjamin is a multidisciplinary artist specializing in painting and sculpture. Born in exile Uganda, Rusagara came back to Rwanda in 1994, where he lost his parents and settled near artists’ neighbors who influenced his early art.

The “Nkusunkushi” exhibition combines drawings, paintings, sculptures, installations, and video woven from a historical way of communicating with sets of drawings, signs, symbols, and characters symbolizing strength and reconciliation.

“The common use of grey color in my work symbolizes the long journey of exiling and exodus from Uganda to Rwanda. This also reflects as well to other histories of migration around the world.” ~ Ben
