In this context, ITEKA Youth Organization in collaboration with Yan Events and the African Artists for
Peace Initiative planned a project named “ITEKA AFRICAN CULTURAL FESTIVAL “under the theme “Art as a Tool for Humanity”, with the aim to promote peace, social cohesion, humanity and unity, and to create encounters for people of diverse backgrounds through the performing art of different artists combined with various workshops and discussions.

With an expectation of the total of two hundred participating artists during four days, from January 24 to 26, Workshops and conferences will be organized in partnership with different stakeholders to whom experts on peace, ethical and religious leaders, university lecturers and students and young artists will be invited to share their experiences.

The events and workshops shall bring people of all age groups, various nationalities and diverse
backgrounds together, including members of Diasporas and to elaborate together on the meaning of peace and what it requires to create peaceful societies in Africa and anywhere in this world.
Further, the encounters and exchange with people of different backgrounds will contribute to the
mission of the African Artists for Peace Initiative and shall enrich ITEKA Youth Organization with
more friends and supporters.
On January 27, it is the final day with the festival including fashion show and exhibition organized at French Institute Kigali (Centre Culturel Français).
